With over a decade of experience in education, Temeika brings an innovative approach to the classroom, blending technology and learning content. During COVID, she led the transition to effectively and efficiently shift a Dallas ISD high school campus of over 1200 students and 100+ faculty members to the PowerSchool and Google Classroom Learning Management System. From there, she led the technology rollout for a new specialized school in DISD and coached teachers on effectively incorporating technology as a tool for differentiation and learning in the classroom.
Temeika's expertise does not stop at content delivery. She understands the climate and culture of the post-COVID classroom, which has seen the rise of mental health issues, anxiety, inability to focus, and other learning difficulties that often plague neurodivergent and behaviorally challenged students. Her 4R method to enhance students' efficacy in controlling impulses and self-managing behavior is a tool used in several programs. She believes all students can learn when the conditions meet their individualized needs.
Temeika is based in New York City, where she continues her work as an educator with students in the historic Washington Heights Community by day and her PhD studies in history by night. As a consultant, Temeika leads workshops and talks, focusing on tough conversations during these challenging times to bring clarity and unity to a polarized nation. Her life is complete with her partner and two sons.

Through the study of literature, history, philosophy, and art the humanities enable us to investigate the complexity of human culture and expression. Humanities push people to question their beliefs while shedding light on various viewpoints and initiating important discussions about personal values and identity. Despite their fundamental worth some people deem them less important than STEM subjects.
Many critics view humanities as having no practical worth and recommend focusing exclusively on STEM subjects. This viewpoint neglects the fundamental contribution of humanities education to developing critical thought processes alongside empathy and cultural comprehension. STEM disciplines power technological progress but humanities establish the ethical and philosophical basis required for responsible innovation.
The humanities enable creative thinking and foster comprehensive viewpoints to solve intricate societal problems. Ignoring the humanities eliminates the ways we comprehend human existence and the multitude of knowledge forms that deepen our world understanding.
In a world predicated on ones and zeros, it is easy to envision our society in black and white. This binary thinking is exactly why we need the responsible exploration of questions without definitive answers. Humanities combined with technological disciplines work in tandem and enhance education and our understanding of the world. For this reason, two truths can exist: STEM is the path toward the future and Humanities is the foundation that ensures that future is ethical, meaningful, and deeply connected to human values.
